Open mouth, insert foot

I have a tendency to say things or write things that can be inappropriate without realizing or thinking of how other people will view what it is I am trying to say. I am not a person who is able to collect the thoughts in my head and organize them to say what I actually mean. I dont mean to be mean, or hurt peoples feelings or even to be rude. Back home (jersey), it didnt happen as much as it does now. Ever since I moved out here to Washington, I feel like I have had to tone myself down. Seriously. I dont feel comfortable being myself. Some of the friends I have tried to make here in Tricities dont get me. After seven years of being here, I am still homesick. Victoria is also very opinionated and feels like people here dont get why she is so frank and to the point. She says what she thinks. I try not to speak up anymore. If I say what I think, I may hurt someone in the long run and that scares me. So, if you happen to meet me in person and I appear to be shy or quiet or stuckup, it isnt that, I just have been having a hard time with communication lately.
